Tigers have offense?

Where did this offense come from?  A major factor causing the major slip the  Detroit Tigers suffered during the second half of the season was due to a lack of offense.  Despite that lack of offense they still were able to limp into the playoffs and advance to the ALDS.

Yesterday, they had a huge offense explosion propelling them into a decisive Game 5 against the Seattle Mariners with the winner advancing to the ALCS against the Toronto Blue Jays and their high octane offense.  In their 4 game ALDS series against the New York Yankess, they scored 34 runs.

The Tigers had 9 runs come across the play yesterday in Game 4 against the Mariners.  After being down 3-0, the Tigers scored 9 unanswered runs.  They stroked 13 hits, spread across 8 different hitters.  Zach McKinstry led the way with 3 hits in 4 trips to the plate.  He also had an RBI and scored 2 runs.  The Tigers got three homeruns off the bats of Gleyber Torres, Javier Baez, and the slumping Riley Greene.  Baez also had 4 RBI's on 2 hits.

The Tigers are going to need this type of offense if they want to advance past the Blue Jays and head on to the World Series.  Now, the good news is, hopefully, with Tarik Skubul on the bump Friday night, they will not need more than a couple of runs to beat the Mariners and advance.
